After more than 100 years, the phonograph record still has not lost any of its fascination. On the contrary: today’s youth (and not only they) are rediscovering this medium and think it’s cool not only to listen to records, but also to visibly carry them around under their arms. In short: VINYL is back in fashion!
Gottfried & Söhne – the shop with the widest and most diverse range of “Jewish Music (s)” in town – is picking up on this trend and with this event, moderated by Johann Kneihs (ORF Ö1), would like to provide a little insight into the history of Jewish music on various sound carriers, with the emphasis on VINYL, assisted by Edek Bartz (Geduldig & Thimann, music organizer and promoter, art curator, etc.), as well as Isabel Frey (singer) and Moritz Weiss (Klezmer musician).
